7.30pm:

Classical night featuring Roland Wood, Morgan Szymanski, O Duo (performing a world premier of a newly commissioned work by Edmund Jolliffe in association with the Society for the Promotion of New Music), The Zephyr Ensemble of London and Simon Hewitt Jones .

Please note that there is now no time to issue tickets.  However, there is room at the venue so please come along to the Church before 7.30.  We will be providing a complementary glass of wine during the short interval.


Featuring

Morgan Szymanski
Morgan Szymanski – Guitar. Born in 1979, Morgan Szymanski began his musical studies in his native Mexico City, before moving to Scotland in 1996, where he studied guitar and composition at the City of Edinburgh Music School.

O Duo
Their repertoire, which spans more than 300 years, is a mix of popular classics and accessible contemporary music played on two marimbas, vibraphone and a huge array of percussion.

Roland Wood
Roland Wood is to be heard regularly on the concert platform, notable appearances including Faure’s Requiem in Budapest; Mozart’s Requiem in Paris; L’Enfance du Christ at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, Messiah in Manchester Town Hall and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solonelle with the Northern Sinfonia.

Simon Hewitt Jones
Young English violinist Simon Hewitt Jones holds the 2001/2 ABRSM (Associated Board) undergraduate scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music in London, England.

Zephyr Ensemble of London
The Zephyr Ensemble of London is Emma-Louise Hible (Flute), Helen Barker (Oboe), Charys Green (Clarinet), Evgeny Chebykin (Horn) and Thomas Oxley (Bassoon).
