Public meeting about proposals to redevelop buildings in Bloomsbury

Camden Council are holding a development management forum where you can listen to proposals to redevelop buildings in Bloomsbury before a planning application is submitted. The locations of the buildings under discussion are: 251-258 Tottenham Court Road, 1 Bedford Avenue, 15 Morwell Street and 24-25 Bloomsbury Square, WC1. The public meeting will take place: When: Tuesday 5 March, 6.15pm. Where: The Friendship Centre, Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, 235 Shaftesbury Avenue, WC2H 8EP

At this meeting the developer will present proposals for the site.
The proposal is:
•    251-258 Tottenham Court Road, 1 Bedford Avenue and 15 Morwell Street, WC1
Demolition of existing buildings and redevelopment to provide a 8 storey building, plus basement level, to accommodate retail (Class A1) at basement and street level with office (Class B1) accommodation on all floors above.
•    24-25 Bloomsbury Square, WC1

Conversion of both Grade II Listed buildings from office use (Class B1) into 8 self contained residential flats (Class C3) associated with providing the housing requirement generated by the proposed commercial development listed above.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the proposal before a planning application is made and to give local people the opportunity to ask questions and give their views on the proposals as they stand at this stage. Everyone is welcome to attend.

A planning application has not yet been submitted by the developer for this site. If one is submitted in the future the Council will publicise and consult on the application in the normal way.
