St Giles Circus/ TCR, Over Station Development Exhibition, 16th and 18th March

As part of our pre-application consultation process, we are hosting a public exhibition on Wednesday 16th March and Friday 18th March, from 4pm to 8pm at the Crossrail Visitor Centre (16-18 St Giles High Street, WC2H 8LN)

TOTTENHAM COURT ROAD CROSSRAIL STATION OVER SITE DEVELOPMENTS (OSD)
EASTERN TICKET HALL – ONE OXFORD STREET
WESTERN TICKET HALL – DEAN STREET
PUBLIC EXHIBITION OF DRAFT PLANNING PROPOSALS
We are writing to you to inform you of a public exhibition, at which we will be showing emerging design proposals for the proposed Over Site Development (‘OSD’) above the Tottenham Court Road Crossrail station. Please note that this exhibition relates solely to the proposed uses and development above and around the station infrastructure rather than the transport works themselves, which are subject to separate planning applications.
The new Crossrail station, once complete, will have a western ticket hall at Dean Street, and an eastern ticket hall at the junction of Oxford Street and Charing Cross Road. Therefore, the proposals on display will describe the plans for the OSD at both locations.
At the western ticket hall, Crossrail is advancing proposals for two buildings that are predominantly residential in use above the station with retail space onto Oxford Street and Dean Street.
At the eastern ticket hall, Crossrail is working in collaboration with Derwent London Plc., and the proposals also include two buildings; in the northern-most building facing onto Oxford Street, there will be retail accommodation alongside the station entrance, with office accommodation above. To the south, there will be a second building with a new 350-seat theatre with associated rehearsal and ancillary space, with further office space above. Both buildings will face onto an attractive new landscaped public square.
The sites were previously occupied by an array of predominantly brick buildings dating from the late nineteenth century and housing offices and retail space, as well as the Astoria music venue on Charing Cross Road. These buildings have now been demolished to facilitate the construction of the new Tottenham Court Road Crossrail Station.
We are currently progressing pre-application discussions with the City of Westminster and other statutory consultees, and planning applications are expected to be submitted for the combined proposals in the coming months.
As part of our pre-application consultation process, we are hosting a public exhibition on Wednesday 16th March and Friday 18th March, from 4pm to 8pm at the Crossrail Visitor Centre (16-18 St Giles High Street, WC2H 8LN), to seek feedback on the draft proposals. The exhibition will be attended by members of the project and design team to present and discuss the proposals.
We hope that you will be able to attend the exhibition to review the proposals and provide comments and feedback. Should you have any queries or questions prior to the exhibition, or would like to discuss any aspect of this project, please do not hesitate to contact the appropriate person below:
