The planning application for Roger Street WC1 has been withdrawn. We believe the contractor for this service will propose a new site for this service in due course which must be subject to consultation with the local community and businesses BEFORE any planning application is made – and we invite them to do so.
The Camden paper on this subject, including the criteria for an acceptable location can be found on this web site at the link below.

Further to the Council Executive meeting on 9th December 2009, the scrutiny period has now passed and we are pleased to confirm the Council ExecutiveÂs decision to award the contract for the provision of the above-mentioned services to Crime Reduction Initiatives (CRI). CRI have an excellent track record of delivering services in Camden and currently run the 184 drug treatment service in Camden Town , the Camden Alcohol Service, the Safer Streets Team and the Drug Intervention Programme
The contract will commence on 1st February 2010 and will manage the drug treatment service for the wards of Holborn and Covent Garden, Bloomsbury and Kings Cross wards and will also run the drug treatment services in the larger homeless hostels in Camden . Services will continue to be run from existing satellite locations, and a suitable fixed site in the borough for the core service will be sought in addition.
