Yet more from the BA: to those that accuse us of advocating ‘right-wing lock-em-up’ policy.

Backdated from previous BA website

We say; Lock up the dealers – Provide proper long-term treatment for the addicts. Homelessness and Drugs are linked but the latter is the main cause of the more serious anti social bahaviour on our streets, parks and housing estates. The difference between the two is that Homelessness is a Condition and the anti social behaviour associated with street based drug activity is Behaviour.

Yet more from the BA – to those that accuse us of advocating ‘right-wing lock-em-up’ policy;

Lock up the dealers – Provide proper long-term treatment for the addicts.

Homelessness and Drugs are linked but the latter is the main cause of the more serious anti social bahaviour on our streets, parks and housing estates.

The difference between the two is that Homelessness is a Condition and the anti social behaviour associated with street based drug activity is Behaviour. All our comments about enforcement relate to the anti social behaviour that is caused by Drugs, NOT the fact that a person is homeless and for whom we have every sympathy.

Unless everyone works TOGETHER to solve these problems they will only get worse.

Disorder on our streets is INCREASING and unless this is tackled effectively success will never be achieved. The community have a vital role to play in this and with the introduction of ‘community policing’ this ‘partnership’ becomes vital if things are to improve.

We believe our approach to this problem is a responsible one – we believe we have a social responsibility and we actively will participate in any way we can to help break this cycle of deprivation caused by Drugs.
