ITâS BEHIND YOU!
As a resident/owner/leaseholder/business tenant in the block bounded by Great Russell Street/Museum Street/Little Russell Street/Coptic Street
you should have received information about a planning application for
â35 Little Russell Streetâ.
This application is for a massive redevelopment of the buildings BEHIND Little Russell Street which will seriously affect everyone in the block.
The tallest element of the new offices proposed by âBlenpark Properties Limitedâ – part of Pearl and Coutts, and their architects SJT Associates –
is HIGHER THAN THE BUILDINGS IN MUSEUM STREET.
The attempt to pack in the maximum floor space means the walls of the proposed new buildings will be so close to neighbours that windows will have to be permanently âshutteredâ to prevent overlooking.
Although the buildings which the developers would like to see demolished are not currently âlistedâ, they are an attractive group which are worthy of retention. And the whole block is within a Conservation Area.
Plans can be seen at One Stop Reception, 5th Floor, Camden Town Hall, Argyle Street, London WC1 8EQ, or online by typing in the Application No. and address at: http://www.camden.gov.uk/planning/plan/spr_fr.htm.
OBJECTIONS TO THESE PROPOSALS MUST BE SENT TO
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF CAMDEN IN WRITING BY
THIS COMING FRIDAY, 19TH MARCH.
If you donât take action, you may soon be looking behind you at something you really donât want to see …..
Objections should be sent to:
Vanessa Leddra, Camden Council Environment Department Planning, Camden Town Hall, Argyle Street, London WC1H 8ND
BY FRIDAY – a simple letter of objection is better than nothing, and you can add to it later.
